MDS taking over the Storm

We had SOOO much fun at the Storm's game with the Murrieta Day Spa crew.  So before I tell you all about the shenanigans let me first thank Monique for taking all of us!

Now this may be a group shot, but I think it should be a self portrait of Cody.  Can we all take a look?  If you don't know who Cody is, he is in the very top far right.  Thank you and have a nice day.

So Monique got us a private suite full of drinks and food!  What happens when you give me (and my friends) drinks and food?  We get cra cra.  This is a story of Murrieta Day Spa employees, their significant others, and FOOD mingled with baseball.

While the others were having some "adult drinks," Adrienne, William and I were getting CARAZAY on Coca Cola!  (I would have said coke for short, but then you guys would think we were doing drugs and we didn't want to confuse you.

The night begins with a foul ball smacking into the glass window.  Thank goodness Gordon had just got up, because it went straight for where he was sitting.  Fear not, the ball didn't hit any of US.  This is where it gets (totally not) funny!  Another foul ball was hit and actually hit a lady below us in the face.  She was pregnant.  I tried to get a picture, but it was just too dark to see anything.

Then pretty much there was baseball going on so we had to get creative.  And when I say we, I mean Jessica :)  I would be a disgrace to my country if I didn't mention that the only one that believed in Jessica's creative genius was William.  This is the story of Jessie.

1. "Hmmm I will make a sign that tells the people to say my name on the speaker"
And the response....
"What do we get?"  Well just so there is no confusion, they didn't get anything! bahahahaha!

2.  Oh you don't see that sign?  Let me zoom in for you.
And yes, that is Jessica with her hands up, me taking pictures of everything and William keeping his cool like a professional model.

Here are the rest of some of the pictures of the night for the people that were there if they want them. (With some narration)

 Good bye.
 Farewell.

Father's Day

I was really excited to celebrate our first Father's Day, so I started planning my attack back in May :)

I knew the boys probably wouldn't be able to be with William on Father's Day so I wanted to do something to incorporate them...

Well thank goodness there is some talent in my family that I can go to in my moment of desperation :) My sister Carly is an AMAZING artist.  She has competed in tons of art shows and people are buying her stuff already!  (she is not even dead yet and they are buying it!!!) Word to the wise: start purchasing art from her now, because you know it will be worth millions when she is dead (in a long long time of course) ;)

So I enlisted the help of Carly to paint (actually she did a charcoal drawing) of William and the boys.  Unfortunately she lives in Utah and the background wasn't done so we had to surprise him via skype:

My first viewing right before I would surprise him:

And now the Skype Surprise Show Down Extravaganza!!!:

And of course we got to Skype with my Dad for a little bit to wish him a Happy Father's Day! (all while he was making dinner for my family on Father's Day)  I love my Dad so much.  He is really such an amazing man.  I am so thankful for him and how he raised me.  He taught me by example the qualities I would want in a man, which made it easy to spot out William (and William's good looks helped too) ;)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to William and my Dad

If you want Carly to do some work for you let me know and I will get you in touch with her to get some quotes!!!

DIY Pom Pom Tutorial

Since so many people (3) asked about how I made the Pom Poms here is the how to!
(This is actually because I am obsessed with blogging and I am super proud of how these turned out and not a lot of my pinterest attempts are successes)

You Will Need:
1. Tissue Paper: about 6-8 sheets per pom pom, in whatever colors or designs that you want.  The thinner and softer the easier, but any will work.  I bought some at the dollar store as well as Target and I  didn't really like the dollar stores as much.
2. Floral Wire: Its about $3 at Joanne's and will make infinity Pom Poms
3. Scissors
4. Bandaids: This is optional and might sound weird, but it seriously helps when you are making a few Pom Poms because your fingers start hurting from the folding :)

How long will it take?
The first Pom Pom will take 45minutes to an hour.  Just because you are figuring everything out.  I was mildly distracted and timed myself and I started doing them in 30-40 minutes each.

Step 1

Gather 6-8 (I prefer 8) sheets of tissue paper and align them as perfectly as you can.  Then fold the tissue back in forth into about 1" to 1 1/2" folds.  Like you are making a fan.  When I first started making them I would freak out about the folds being perfect, but as long as they are close to the same size as the previous fold you are good to go.

Another tip also, is that the folds are super important to get a crisp fold.  This is why I suggest bandaids.  I had gotten a paper cut after the first 4 that I made (and my fingers were already feeling raw anyway from pressing so hard) and when I put a bandaid on the paper cut I realized it made the folding go way easier!

Step 2

Cut the flower wire about 16" and fold in half.

You will place that in the middle of your folder tissue paper and twist the ends 4 or 5 times to secure it.

Step 3

Cut the ends of the tissue paper in any design you can imagine.  My go to design was zig zags because its pretty hard to cut through all that tissue and it seemed to be the easiest.

Step 4

Spread both sides of the tissue open like a butterfly.  Then CAREFULLY (but don't freak out if you do end up accidentally ripping the tissue because it won't be visible), pull each individual tissue paper up all the way to start forming the Pom Pom.

When you have lifted and fluffed each sheet you have formed your Pom Pom! Yay!!!  I fluffed mine a lot to make them look pretty :)

The end of the wire will stick up the flat end of the Pom Pom.  You can either hang it from those OR you can tie them into a hook and attach fishing wire to the hook to hang them lower OR you don't even have to hang them, you can put them on a table as a centerpiece or whatever other creative ideas you could think of.

I grouped them in 3's as well as some individuals and had an expert (my friend Tarah) hang mine for me.

The finished result:
